With a population of roughly 270,000,
Henderson is the second-largest city in the state of Nevada, second to Las Vegas.
Although Las Vegas is just 15 miles down highway 582,
Henderson has a much quieter and relaxed feel to it,
far from the hustle, bustle, and neon lights of the Vegas strip.
That said, there's still plenty to do in the city of Henderson.
Wildlife enthusiasts might like to head to the 100-acre
Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve, where over 250 avian species can be spotted.
Those interested in the arts might prefer to view
pieces at the City Lights Art Gallery or seek out one of several
public murals around the city, such as Robert Beckman's mural on
Henderson's beginnings from 1941 to 1953, which is located on the
Embarq Building at Water Street and Pacific Avenue.
No matter what you're into, you'll find something to do in Henderson.
